Lets go term 2!!!!
Far out those holidays went quickly! They were busy, wet and wild. This term is going to be busy again and we are kicking off our topic study with a unit called 'What's the Plan Stan?'... this is all about disasters and how they can affect us and what we can do to cope... Christchurch and Japan are going to give us some really important things to think about if the BIG ONE ever hit the Bay.
The other thing I am looking forward to is winter sport and our interschool exchanges.
Watch this space!!!

Our swimming sports! by Jordan
Go Raureka Go!Today we had our swimming sports, mostly everybody competed in them with the seniors only a couple of people missed out in our class. It was really hot we started at 10:10. We had like these houses and I was in green there were other colours the other colour were Red,Blue and yellow our team Green nearly came first but red and blue just beat us we were so close but red and blue got the prize at least we tryed our best that was all I was concerned of. My team mates cheered for me and I cheer for them. It was cool cause I like the colour Green and I was in Green it is the colour I see every morning on the trees and grass and on the stem of a flower. The teacher said if we had anything of our house colour then we could go in and not wear uniform. The dumb thing was that I didn`t have anything Green. AAAAHHHHHH!!!! I didn`t want to go in my uniform but I had to, great! I don`t have any Green accessories so I went to school Green-less but luckily my friend Teagan brought something Green for me thank goodness! Yeah! we are done with swimming sports, gosh am I hungry wow! it is past morning tea oh well it is over anyway. I had fun swimming it was the best one ever!

Book Review by Heath
In room 7 we have been reading Roald Dahl books. So far we have read The Magic Finger and now we are on to the Twits. We have already read a bit of the book. It's about two people called Mr Twit and Mrs Twit. They liked to play tricks on each other. It's a really cool book.I wonder what other Roald Dahl books we are going to read.
Excellence Awards by Jordan
Last Friday we had the excellence awards at assembly. I was hoping it would be me but it was Mosiah. I was so happy for her. She looked really surprised and excited. I clapped my hands really loud since she got the award. I was so proud of her she must of really worked hard to get it! I bet I couldn`t do work like she can. Like when she did her first bit of homework in Room 7 it was amazing... she had a blue cardboard background and she drew pictures and cut out pictures, also she had written down things. She did that in just one week now that is excellent so no wonder she got it.

Nice simile, Jaydin...
End of Week 2
Well they say time flies when you are having fun...and this week has well and truly flown by :) We have finished our Statistics study now and we found out that if McDonalds had to rely on Room 7 for business that they would be out of luck! The kids favourite takeaways is KFC followed by Subway. I wonder if sushi would ever be a first choice???? The tally charts and bar graphs showed what we found out very clearly.
